Cookouts and board meetings

Aunt Annie asked for an update, so Mommy told me to write another blog post. It's hard to squeeze blog posts into my busy schedule of eating and sleeping, but anything for the family!
It's been a good week. We had a long weekend, and Mommy and Poppa had a cookout for Memorial Day. Gran, Grandpa, Aunt Erin, Aunt Megan, Mike (Mommy calls him Stinky Cheese) and Uncle Scott came over. I sat in my bouncy seat on the back deck while everyone ate hot dogs and hamburgers. It was lots of fun, but I wish I could have a hamburger.
On Tuesday, Mommy took me to my first Business and Professional Association board meeting. She said I'm the newest member. Of course, I slept through the meeting, but I think I added some vital expertise on the professional lives of babies. We also had a nice, long car ride, and I love riding in the car!
For Aunt Annie's baby fix, Mommy took this picture of me and Poppa. I'd just had a bath and was wearing my footie pajamas for bed time.

Bath time!

I had my first tub bath yesterday, and I'm pretty sure I liked it. It was a very new experience, and I stayed very serious the whole time. I didn't cry, though, and Mommy says that's a good sign. Afterwards, I got to dress up in my ducky bathrobe, and everyone said how cute I looked!

So smart

Gran gave me this little rocking seat with toys on it. I really like sitting here, even though I can't reach the toys. I figured out that I can make the toys dance by kicking my legs. Sometimes I even try to reach for them, but I can't get there just yet.
I'm sitting with my favorite blanket/stuffed animal, Blue. He's my good buddy, and I like to coo at him. Mommy says I'm very advanced and smart, obviously taking after her! Poppa says he might have something to do with that, too.

Workin' for the weekend

This weekend was so fun! First off, Mommy left me alone with Poppa and Uncle Mike so she could get out of the house and see a movie with Aunts Erin, Megan and Indhira. We men had male bonding time, and Mommy only called to check on me twice! Aren't I a big boy?

I met Grandpa again, and we played on the nursery floor. Then, on Sunday my Souza cousins along with Aunt Andrea and Uncle
Pete came for a visit. It's great to have so many cousins! It was the first time I got to meet cousin Alden, and we got along great. I think he looks like me, don't you?

Back to work

Mommy took me back to work today. She says she's just trying out a few hours at a time to see if she can do it. We got a lot of work done, especially me catching some z's.
Mommy said she was a bit scared to try getting out of the house with me alone today, so I made things as easy on her as possible. As soon as she got my diaper off to clean me up, I pooped all over the changing table and sprayed tinkle all the way over my own head! Wasn't I a big help? Anyway, she got me cleaned up and fed and out the door at a decent hour. Then, Gran came with lunch for us and Mommy took our picture together.

Reading time

Here's a picture of me and Poppa having a good time. I love it when Poppa talks to me. I smile at him and giggle!

In answer to Aunt Erin's question, both Mommy and Poppa have read to me. Mommy has read Goodnight Moon and Guess How Much I Love You. Poppa has read Where the Wild Things Are and today started on the Zombie Survival Guide. Mommy said the guide would scare me, but I just thought it was interesting.

Poppa also put the little Cthulu plushie Aunt Erin gave me for Christmas in my bassinet today. Mommy said that would scare me too, but I just think he's funny. Does this mean I'm already a geek?

Busy life

Whew! I'm having trouble keeping up with my busy schedule. Every time I turn around there's someone else here to see me. Of course, I don't interrupt my beauty sleep for these visits. In the past few days I've met my great-grandmother, cousins Jackson and Jennah, and my great-great aunt Barbara. Mommy says that means she's Gran's mother's sister. So much to remember!
I've been enjoying sitting up in the Boppy pillow, listening to music and Mommy and Poppa reading to me. I've also been getting to know my hounds. Dizzy loves to give me kisses!

Visitations

I kept Mommy and Poppa awake Tuesday night, so Wednesday I spent catching up on my beauty sleep. More of my adoring family came to visit this evening, so I got to see Poppy and Nanna again and meet my cousins Megan and Corey. Of course, I slept through the whole thing.

Cousin Corey said he's going to teach me to play football. Megan said Mommy and Poppa should have named me Frank because the expectations are too high for people named Daniel. I don't think I like that name, but she can call me Frank if she wants to.

What a Day

Last night I got to spend some quality time with Poppa and Dizzy. As relaxing as that was I had quite the day today. First I had to go see the doctor (I have conjunctivitis) and was given some God-awful stuff that goes in MY EYE! Simply horrible. But on a brighter note, I got to finally meet my boss, Sandra. She was very pleased to see me and demands I be in the office early from now on. That got me to cry, I love sleeping in. So Sandra made me cry.

Going to work

Mommy and Poppa apologize for not posting for so long. They let the battery on Mommy's camera run down, and the charger was at a place called the Shopper office where Mommy says we work.

We stopped by and picked the charger up, and Mommy checked her e-mail. I met lots of new people, but not Sandra yet. This picture has me with Greg, Jake, Patty and Paige. Of course, they all love me!

Mommy says I have a doctor appointment tomorrow, so I should rest up. After greeting my adoring co-workers, I'm very sleepy.

Freedom!!!!

Finally the doctors let me go home. I was starting to think the whole world was beige walls, drop ceilings, and bad blinds. Before I left, I had my picture made with Coco. She took real good care of me, and was always smiles and niceness. Mommy and Poppa loaded me into a contraption called a "car seat" and I thought that was very fun. Finally Poppa loaded me into his car and we got to go to my castle. As soon as we got in, I found my own spinny thing. That is rather boring, so Mommy brought me my hounds. Mommy apologizes for not having pics of that, the SD card was full. Dizzy was very interested and wanted to give me kisses, and Sarge got my scent and wanted to go back outside. For all those wishing to come see me, call Mommy or Poppa first and let them know, but I would love to see everyone this weekend.

Another busy day done.

I think Poppa and Mommy are starting to go stir crazy here at the hospital. Poppa has been in and out all day. Pappaw ( he told me to call him Bear tho) came to see me and I commented on his tie.It was very shiny. Mommy's Boss (Sandra) and office called to say they love my journal here. Mommy told me to say, "Thank you." Poppa says their just being nice to get more photos. Aunt Megan stopped by and talked with us. She told Mommy she wants her own baby, she just doesn't want to be pregnant or give birth. Poppa thought that was funny. The last part of my day, I got to meet Uncle Mike and Aunt Ihndira. They were really sweet to me and I liked them both a lot. Aunt Ihndira is going to give me a playmate soon, but I have to wait til August. When your three days old, that feels like an eternity.

Ah, memories.

Yesterday was a busy day, but fortunately Mommy was around to keep up with my busy schedule. I met with my new physical therapists, and me Aunt Andrea. Cooper was a little smitten with me, especially after Poppa told him he can boss me around eventually (I'll get Poppa for that someday). Poppa was gone last night, something to do with my hounds and getting them ready to greet me as my subjects. Well I am off to get ready for my next photo shoot. Keep the comments coming, my press agent (Poppa) just doesn't have enough to do ;-)
